Neons have disappeared

I have 4 gold gouramis, 1 blue gourami, two marble angelfish, 5 lemon tetras in a good sized tank. Community has been together 4-6 months.

Also have 3 cardinal and 4 neon tetras. Well I did have. Now three of the neons are nowhere to be found.

Where on earth could they be. I have poked around the tank in case they were hiding but they haven't shown themselves. I can't imagine they've been eaten after all this time...and why them and not the others? and by whom?

It's got me really confused.

Any ideas?

im sorry for your loss but im going to guess the angels or gourami's had a snack ...both of which love brine shrimp and live foods, if they were big enough and fast enough to eat them, they will...or it could be in your filter system if it passed and can fit up the intake

Hey Shawnie. Thanks for the reply.

Just been browsing a few posts and notice others have had some disappearances too and I guess some of the big fish got to the little tetras recently. I've checked the filtration system and there's nothing there.

I was away from home for about 30 hours and someone or a couple of them got a tad hungry and feasted on three of the little ones it would appear.

How lucky is the survivor?

I am very surprised this has happened. I thought all the fish were the correct sizes not to be eaten (with the fish in mouth rule) but I was obviously mistaken.

I reckon it was Russell (the only male Gourami). He's a bit of a lad, named Russell after Russell Crowe.
