okay, so I have 4 bleeding heart tetra, 2 males, 2 females in a planted 10 gal with a cave. One of the males was badly beaten up last night, torn fin, bruising, and I thought he was a floater this morning. Now, he's seperated (floating in a fish bag), and seems to be doing better.
So how do I keep this from happening again? Is this a male/female ratio problem? Not enough territory? Help!

it might be a matter of claiming space that aggression might've set in among them

bleeding hearts are one of the larger tetra species and need space to shoal. being in a 10 gallon tank might've caused some aggression among as the two males claim small temporary breeding and courting territories. The male female ratio might also be part of this, but for now, i would suggest an upgrade to at least a 20 gallon tank
