Stocking question

Well, somebody correct me if I'm wrong, as I often am:

5xRed Phantom x 1.5 in
5xRummy Nose x 2 in
4xDiscus x 10 in

that's about 57.5 in of fish...Now, assuming Discus needs a bit more swimming space than the regular 1in per 1 G rule...I'd say you can stock about 4-6 more tetras

Correct me if I'm wrong

I think discus only get to six inches. If I'm right, and R.E. is too- 'discus need a bit more swimming space' than I'd say R.E.'s calculations are good.

Well, depends on which school of people you are from...
Some like the 'natural' substrate, ie black or grayish brownish, others like the green/blue/red type...Personally I go for natural, more eye pleasing imo...

I've seen all types of substrate, the bottom line is however that you shouldn't really get one that brings the fish color out...You should get a substrate that is most similar to your fishes natural environment...So for loaches I'd get sand or very fine smooth pebbles. You can research either on this website or any other website the environment your fish are from

I'm sure some people will disagree
