I currently have two pristella tetras in my 20 gallon (along with cories, a snail and a clown pleco) I was planning to get more tetras (on the advice of you guys from FL) but my local pet store doesn't have very many pristella tetras and the few they have don't look very strong or healthy. I did however see some good looking lemon pristellas that all looked healthy - would they work in terms of building "a school" or should I stick to the regular pristella tetras?
And how about black neons - would they eventually work because they were pretty goodlooking also.

As stated above, most similarly body shaped fish will school together, if they are schooling fish.
I would see no problems merging the two species into a school.

i agree i have bloodfins,black neons and pristellas all together and they school....mostly the neons and pristellas.... but they all get along
