Schooling Tetras
I have heard that some tetras will school with different types. What tetras would do that? I am just wondering for a possible future tank.

Don't quote me, but I've read they will if they are basically the same size and shape.

I heard Rummy nose and Neon tetras were able to school together, but it wasn't easy though. One thing in mind is Neon and Cardinal tetras should NOT be schooled together. I think everyone should know that already. Sepae tetras can also school with glowlight tetras! Never tried it but i've seen it in an aquarium store near my house, and they're doing good.

Ok I have never heard this and I was just wondering why..I mean they look so much alike and are the same size would figure they would be a natural to school together.

I dont think any are actually MENT to school together, they just do when there are not enough for 2 seperate schools.

I don't reccomend trying to school them with other species on purpose. Stick with same species schools whenever possible.
But if you have to know, I have heard of neons schooling with glo light tetras, and like someone else said in this thread, don't quote me.

get 6 or so of two kinds, more than likely some will die off, if enough die down so that there aren't many left, they will be comfortable enough around each other to school together, but good luck =P

My neon and glow lights school together, but I think it has more to do with there being 6 of each in a 10 gallon tank.I think if you had 6 of each in a larger tank, they would not school with each other,IMO.Like the others said, don't quote me though.
