Pristella Tets

Thoughts on Pristella tets. i saw them at lfs today and I think they are awesome. I have gold and glowlight tets, and livebearers. Would a couple do good in a 35g?

Yup, very peaceful and work well in a group. I have 5 Pristellas with my mix of red eyes, Serpaes and Cherry Barbs.

Yes, they are ok in your tank, but make sure they are in schools, or they will exhibit fin-nipping behavior. They are very nice fish indeed.

Good luck!

Hi everybody. I'm only a newbie, but I love the 4 Pristella Tetras that I have in my 20g tank! They are very lively, and their fins have a striking appearance.

One thing I notice, though, is that one of them tends to separate off from the school. Three of them usually hang out together while one goes off by himself somewhere. I don't know if it's always the same one or not because they all look practically identical. Any ideas why they would do that?

Im having the exact same problem with the 4 pristella tetras I have in my 20 gallon! There is always one at the top by himself while the other three hang out near the bottom together. I dont know why!

Same thing happened to me with my 5 pristella tetras. 4 stayed together and one would wander off by itself. Now I am down to 3 of them, and they all stay together. They are a very cool fish. I have mine in with a tank of tetras and corys and they do great!
