| I have two in my larger aquarium, I'm looking to get two more next weekend. They're really pretty!
They move around a lot, but don't seem to school up (so I don't think you NEED a school of 6 or more.) I haven't seen them hiding yet (i've only had them a few days) so I think you'll be fine without plants. Maybe get a few plastic ones just in case.
They're not aggressive as far as I can tell, however they are the smallest fish in the tank right now. Buenos Aires Tetras ignore them, and the congos do likewise. However, they do tend to spar with the Giant Danio's...even the ones that are much larger than them.
The Gourami chases them occasionally, but they're faster and have no trouble with him.
Too bad they're so expensive! I got mine on sale for half off...and they were STILL $5! I hope the sale runs through next weekend when I pick up two more...
EDIT: I take it back, they DO need plants and stuff. I went by the tank during the night and the congo tetras were chilling in/near plants and rocks. Last edited by Tavel; February 18th, 2008 at 02:34 PM.
