Sounds to me like you my have a mini cycle starting if test kit showing ammonia in tank and not in tap. Start on daily water changes and closely watch your water parameters. It may not be a faulty test kit!

If water parametrs are off in any of my tanks I always check all of them just in case. What water conditioner are you using?

Sometimes water company will add chemicals to your water supply which some conditioner do not remove. I've never used top-fin. I ended up using Prime and my parameters equaled out. It seems more expensive but in the long run I use less so it lasts much longer. Water conditioners have a lot of significance in the parameter of your water.

With ammonia removers your tank dose not cycle. you need some ammonia to build nitrites and nitrates. Prime blocks ammonia but it is there for the Bio field to to feed on.

wonton you have green in your test kit..so either you have a faulty test kit, or there is ammonia in your tanks (ammonia means tanks arent cycled) or you tested incorrectly..but you said you got the same reading 4 times....so members have given their advice, what you do with it is your choice I hope things look up!
