So how do read your color chart?

One thing that I see mentioned over and over here is how at times it is difficult to read the color charts of test kits. So I was wondering how do you read it.

For me I place it against the card to give it a good white background and then directly under the stove light. For me I have found that it gives me the easiest reading of the different colors.

I do that, then take it over to the window to read it under sunlight, and then I'm still never quite sure.

It had become a game with my girls, they want to "pick" the color.

Yeah, I had to start wearing glasses to read last year. It was very tramatic! But I guess I did pretty good making it 48 years before having to succumb.

I do the card thing, wall thing, light thing, and whoever is around. Sometimes the color is very easy to tell and others I think it's a mix and I spend a good 10 minutes on it. When is API going to have a real cheap digital tester?

I have friends that work in the environmental sciences field and I was going to start asking around if they have any used digital stuff that I could "borrow" or buy cheap from them.

I put it against the white card, and then stand with my back to a bright light, so that I can look at the colour with light shining directly on it.
