Hi,

my FLFS only had the saltwater test kits, so I picked one up thinking they can't be that different.

I have the API saltwater master test kit, will I be ok using that to test my freshwater tank with? Is it only the test cards that are different, or are the chems different?

Rather than trading it in I might just use the card pics posted in the sticky if I can.

I did a search and the only answer I found is that the test cards are different.
I can't vouch for that info though.
Maybe you could call a few stores tomorrow and ask or maybe e-mail the company that made the test?
Hopefully someone else can answer this.

and im still sticking with my answer..if they were the same product and just different cards, its much cheaper for the company to just include both sets of cards in one kit..I DO NOT think they are the same ....but calling would confirm ....

I found a decently priced api freshwater master kit today and bought it, I will trade the saltwater one in on fish when the time comes I think.
