Is it important to have dry test tubes?

I finally got my API Master test kit today (woohoo) and ran my first tests. Question: while I understand that the tubes should be clean before running a test, must they also be dry to prevent contamination with chlorine in tap water (which I used to rinse out the tubes)?

Thanks!

Morning. It would probably be a good idea to dry them so the chlorine doesn't have a chance to interfere with your readings. I have well water so I don't have to deal with chlorine issues. I'm sure you could shove a paper towel inside the tube to dry it.
Have a good day today!

If you rinse them with the water your going to test before you test you should be ok.
If your going to test more than one tank it's a good idea to do this also.

Welcome! I do water tests at work and that is the manufacturers instructions. By rinsing the tubes with the water your going to test the test sample isn't contaminated or diluted with other water. Also if you can avoid dipping the tubes into the tank in case there is still reagent residue in the tubes. Don't know if it would be enough to hurt or not but don't want to take a chance.
