Use SW Master Kit for FW?

I was going to go with SW but then decided to stay with freshwater and i have an API SW Master test kit, Can i use that for FW also? If not i guess i'll have to go buy a fw one.

hmm, i don't see any reason why it wouldnt work. i'd test your tap water and see what kind of results you get

I don't think it'll work well to be honest

Salt catalyses some reactions (for example Iron's oxidisation), so you might get lower readings than would be the truth.

I'd check each of them and compare them to known values.

IMO if they were compatable, they wouldnt make two different kinds of kits

They should work except you might have to get f/w (low range: 6.0-7.6) pH kit depending on your pH.

If you haven't opened it then return it to the store. Otherwise just email the company and ask about it.

I have both API kits. As far as I know, the reagents are the same, it's just that some of the color cards are different; so the problem lies in interpreting the results. I can't recall offhand which cards are different.
