Great price for API test
I just picked up an API Freshwater Master Test Kit from my local Walmart. I think the price was very good - $17.64 (a local Petco sells it for $31.99). Walmart has this kit only online http://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...uct_id=3635493 If you have a Walmart store near and choose a "site to store" option (that's what I did) you will not pay shipping fees.

Great information. I've been looking for a deal for that master test kits. But from the picture, it seems to be a older version of the kit. Could you please confirm what are included in the box? Thanks.

DFS has it cheaper, but they DO charge for shipping...The cardboard box is the old packaging, the plastic is the new, but the contents should be the same.

this isnt a full kit with ammonia, nitrites, nitrates, & ph like the master api kit that I use and paid $25 for....its for ammonia, ph, and hardness of the water...still a great deal tho...

Ah. Then DFS is still the better deal, because it's the full set for 15.99.

I guess it pays to know what you need to get.....after all the people we tell to get the API MASTER TEST KIT, it is frustrating to find there is one out that is called that, yet doesn't have all the tests in it.

Here is a quote from the reviews on this product:
(am I allowed to do this??)
"This is a quality test kit from API, but it does NOT contain GH or KH tests like it says in the item description. I was really disappointed, so I checked the API website and the description is wrong there too. I emailed them with no response as of yet.
If you want to test nitrates, nitrites, pH, and ammonia, this is a great product for a great price, but don't get it for testing GH/KH!"

Hope this helps.

that link up above is what I was talking about...for that price, and for what you get, its good..but that isnt the master test kit that most pple need...the one above is as follows
The Freshwater Master Test Kit Includes Tests for:
Freshwater pH
High Range pH Ammonia Nitrite
GH (general hardness)
KH (carbonate hardness)
so I called walmart, and it is indeed only a ph, ammonia, and hardness test kit... so hopefully people arent mislead when we tell them to get the api master liquid test kit

Yeah, that's the price I've seen in my LFS's for them, which is why I bought mine from Drs. Foster and Smith. Even WITH the shipping charge, it was cheaper!

Not sure what the arguement is here but I ordered mine from Walmart and when it came it included pH, Ammonia, Nitrates and Nitrites. This is a great test kit for cycling a tank and keeping tabs on the water parameters.
Thanks
