Ok...I have a 10 gallon, with plant bulb, plant-growth gravel and plant food (corallife, fresh water plant food---which has no iron ;( ). (I also get the bio-bacteria starter liquid called bio spira, but the person at the store said not to add it till I add the fish)..

The kit is Fresh Lab Deluxe by Red Sea, which also has Flora 24 and FloraGro.

One week later the plants are all dieing, I added Corallife about 4 days ago. I also have a peice of driftwood that is "tea" coloring the water, so I did a 65% water change the results are:

GH=very soft/soft
KH=very soft
pH=7.8
Co2=8ppm
No2=0.05 ppm
Cl2=0.05 (ppmI think its 0.075ppm)
NH3/NH4+=0.25ppm
Fe=0ppm



I know I have to get iron. But the rest is a little confusing, cause its the first week...Should I throw out the filter and then add the bacteria...Or add the bacteria now. Also I have not added more corallife, should I add that or the Flora 24 and/or FloraGro?

What is the wattage per gallon of your plant light? What plants did you put in? Some plant stores sell plants like mondo grass that really aren't for aquariums, or will sell you high light plants when you don't have enough wattage for them.

As for Bio-Spira, I hope you have it in the refrig. I never buy it till I'm ready to put it in the tank. I have never started a plant tank and not been ready to add fish, but I would say you are taking great care, and that is to be commended.
