I am getting a API master freshwater test kit.

Well I WAS going to get it from our local big chain pet store and they where going to do a price match from PetSmart. They told me over the phone that they would do it BUT when I got there they would not do it! So I bought it from Fosters and Smith for $25.99 total. I will NOT be giving them my money. so they can

Is there any thing I need to know about it?

thanks.

Just follow the directions, especially for the Nitrate tests -- the shaking of Bottle #2 and the test tube when all the chemicals are in is VERY important for getting a proper reading.

Good stick to it! Sorry for the hassle, and yes it is really an investment that will pay in a healthier tank for months to come! Jsalemi has it right, that bottle #2 on nitrates crystallises and you have to even hit it against a solid object several times and shake it for at least as long as they say to break them up, so they flow at the right rate to mix in the tube. IF you do this you get good results, much better than other tests.
