Water change temperature?

Hi again.

Finally got my fish. Three Zebra Danios and Three Glofish. I love them, and they seem to get along great. I mean they're basically the same fish.

Anyway, I'll have pics up as soon as I can. But I was wondering about water change temperature. I keep a container of treated water ready (to stabilize the pH to the same as the tank) and when I add it in, it seems to be quite a bit cooler than the tank. Is this OK?

Also, does anyone know whether my Anubias Nana needs to be planted? It floated up to the top of the tank awhile ago, and I like it better there.

Anubis shouldn't be planted but growing on driftwood and if the temp difference isn't so great then it won't be a problem I think a 2 degree difference is okay.

Eh...I can't add driftwood. My PH is low as it is. I could look around for some type of plastic decoration, though.

Hello Chozon1. Your treated water in the container should be as close to the same temperature as the water in the tank that you can possibly get it. Sudden temperature changes can lead to a lot of problems. ICH being one of them. You could have the water in a gallon jug, fill a sink with warm water and set the jug in it. Use your thermometer from the tank and try to match it. Shake the jug a time or two while it's warming because heat rises. This will give you a more accurate reading. Some people check the temperature by touch.

I'm not sure what to tell you about the plant. I'm sure you'll get some more responses.
Have a good day!

I think it could probably attach to a rock not sure though.

If you like it floating then it's perfectly fine If you decide you want it at the bottom of the tank here are a few ways to accomplish that.

As long as the rhizome is exposed to the water column in some way they will thrive. The only difference between floating and being attached to an object is what part of the tank it's in
