Don't their lips stick to the ice cubes? Do fish even have lips?

Seriously tho, I hope your fishies are ok, great idea Shawnie.

I'd suggest lights off until Monday, as well.
You can also blow a fan across the tops of the tanks. This will also bring the temp in the apartment down a bit as it takes energy to cause the water to evaporate. This also means topping the tanks off more frequently, though.

Imagine the fish's lips got stuck. How funny! hahahahahahhahaha. But no evil thoughts though.

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make light of a serious situation with your fish.

I've never thought about the impact on my fish if the air conditioning went out.

Last year I put water in big ziplock bags and froze it (you might want to treat the water in the bags in case they leak) then float them once they freeze. Good luck! (and I hope you stay cool enough too!)

All you can do is add the ice and water changes as you've been doing
AND it's only June 7th, the hottest months are yet to come. Thank goodness where we live the temps don't stay hot too, too long. Our tanks, even the 120g stays at 80* in the summer. The saltwater set we had going last summer went up to 90...the lights are very hot in SW tank.
