Heating problem
I think that the heater on my tank is broken. I have been having wierd temperature fluctuations in my tank. I kept coming home for the past week, and my tank was at 86 degrees! I usually keep it between 78 and 80. So every day when this happened I would do a water change and adjust the temp so that it was back to normal. Then the following day it would be the same. So, I unplugged the heater and got the water to stabilize at 78 degrees. It did not fluctuate at all for 3 days (I live in an apartment with good insulation, so the temperature inside stays pretty constant. I decided to try plugging my heater back in, but turned it down. I came home today to find my tank at 86 degrees again. What is the best way to cool my tank so that my fish are not harmed? I am going to throw this heater out and get a new one.
