Hey all,

I have always loved the look of an orange shoulder tang ( ) but i was wondering. I have recently added a sailfin tang to my tank so could i still put the orange shoulder tang in it or would they fight??

I know there are a few ways of doing this e.g. rearranging rockwork. But i dont think i am going to do that seeing as i like the look of the tank as it is.

The tank is a 450 litre which i have read on numerous sites is large enough for the orange shoulder tang.

Any info is helpful!

It should be fine.

Tangs are aggressive to each other unless if they're added at the same is not completely true. They should be fine because the orange shoulder has a completely different shape and color to the sail fin. for example if I added a blue tang to my yellow tang. The yellow is triangle and bright yellow, the blue is oval with dark blue.

I'm not positively sure, but I would say it would be a risk because their shape is very similar.

Got an orange shoulder tang yesterday

Looking really good and he is eating already

The sailfin and orange shoulder seem to really like each other

I Love Naso Tangs but both my tanks are far too small to keep them in when they are adult size.

mine will be to small to because of my yellow tang and my foxface, but my plan is to upgrade to a tank in between 250-300 gallons in 3 or 4 years. I want to add him now because I don't want him to be too small in a 250.

Sound like a good plan to me

Also it sounds like you will have more room to buy more corals and other fish

Which means more pictures for us YAY!!
