hello guys im Tai well i really need yall help man. SO i just got my powder tang yesterday, and he hasnt eaten the food that i usually feed my fishes which is green flake, and eventually he just got ICH today..but he is doin fine though. About my orange shoulder tang, I got for like 5 days already. ANd same thing with the powder he hasnt eaten the food that i feed yet. All they both do is swim around and nibble all the algae on the rocks. Can you guys tell me what should i do? wat should i feed them both?..

THANKSS---TAI DANG----

is that a good sign that they nibble all the algae on the rocks?

THANKS GUYS

Welcome To FishLore

Yes it is a good sign that they are eating the algae. Try feeding them frozen brine shrimp my tang Loves It

Hope your tangs do well and live long.

About the ich: The ich is natural when they are stressed out and they will be for about2 weeks after being introduced to a new home

Hi Tai, and welcome to Fishlore,
Tangs are ich magnets, for some reason if they are stressed they will get it.
Tangs are herbivores, but will take some frozen foods.
Try feeding some nori or dried seaweed.
Could you list the readings for the water tests?
I would look at raising the tank temp to 83f for 2 weeks to treat the ich.
Big tank... clean the gravel every 2nd day, this will remove the ich eggs.

Clean the gravel with a syphon... do you have one of these?

I would be cleaning the filter sock or filter bag 2 times a week, As the ich eggs will be in the filter sock I would treat some fresh water ( to remove the chlorine ) and heat the water on the stove ( in a pot ). Wash the bag in clean salt water, then let it sit in the hot water ( not boiling just hot ).
