Your pictures might need to be resized.
For me, the pictures are too blurry to see anything.

You're asking about the darker fish in the rear of the picture labeled "what is that hanging from his anal fin"?

You really only need on thread per topic: sword not sure what to make of it

But to answer your question, male livebearers have a modified anal fin called a gonopodium that is used to transfer sperm to a female during mating. Looking at the pictures in your profile gallery, I do see a gonopodium, but I don't see anything abnormal.

The two threads have been merged.
It's only necessary to start one thread for a question.
Thanks!

As Lucy noted, they are too large.

When you attempt to attach an image, the Manage Attachments window clearly and explicitly states the maximum file size and image dimensions that are allowed:
manage_attachments.jpg
Your picture exceeds all three maximums... it is too wide, too tall, and takes up too much disk space:
too_large.jpg
Resize it to fit within the constraints specified by the Manage Attachments window, and it will attach to a post.

All live bearer can be sexed at about 6 weeks through the use of a microscope. They will sexually mature at a later date. Hopefully! The early maturers are a nightmare for the serious breeder.

Males of course develop a gonopodium, which is their sex organ and other various traits which are triggered by sex related genes.

If you are serious about regulating the breeding of your live bearers then get the needed closer look and seperate the males out. The males will be aggressive after they mature and are best kept apart from one another.
