female swordtail seems different to the others

Hi im new here

i was just wondering of you could look at these pictures, because my black female seems different to my other, could it be a hybrid? any theries?

It's probably a different breed - there are so many colours and fin types of Swordtail out there, coupled with the fact they can breed with Platys means LOTS and LOTS of variation! I love Black swords!

Yeah it is probably a diffrent breed but it still could be a hybrid.

I saw a kind called a 'rainbow sword' at my LFS that looks similar to yours; in normal light it looks all black. However, when light hits it right, they look like oil when it's developed a film and got colors all over the top.

Is it black all the time, or does it show any iridescence?

There are alot of different kinds....your black looks like a hi fin. My blacks shimmer with the turquoise to, my one more then the other. She does look a little more platyish so she could be a cross of the sword and the platy. I could be wrong. I had a black swrod that just had fry and they came out with a couple black some clear in color who know what they will be eventually and mostly a marble color. But most true black have that shimmer color when the light hits them right
