hmm, you know, i suppose every live bearer start out as egg and sperm... haha
I do believe that they're like human babies, though and grow inside the momma's tummy as fry. I think I read on here at one point that some people could see through one of their fishes tummies and see little eyes.
LOL I think the fish need their own romantic music... The guy fish has got to put forth a little effort, you know! HAHA

You know the funny thing is the poor guy chases these girls all over the place and they whip their tails at him! He tries to corner them (maybe this is his romantic move , lol, but doesn't have much luck ), the girls are very independent. Hey, does anyone know what names the black ones are? Kind of swordtail that is....

They could be called several different things, but we would just call them Black green swordtails, if it were our fish.

LOL, ok, I tried this in describing them to a FS in the St. Louis area and they seemed very lost. Have you all seen these color of swordtail before?

Yes, we've seen it before. For the fishstore to seem lost on something as simple as a fish being called by its color is kind of sad.
This is the problem that arises with developed strains. Developed strain may be called one common name in one place and something totally different in another, whereas with wild-caught fish there is a DEFINATE latin name assigned. (That latin name may change a few times per decade, but it is much easier than common names.)
I hope the fry situation improves.

Thank you, I thought black/green swordtail was very clear also,,, they didn't. I thought they were such a pretty color and if they mated with the sunset swordtail, then maybe that would be nice too,,, if not they are sweet little fish and I can deal with that. I heard that swordtail are like mollies and guppies, good breeders. Just had/have never seen it in [i] any[i] of the swordtails I have had.

The stomachs would get bigger but with most livebearers you can see eggs in the back side of their stomach.
