Swordtail fry

I went to my LFS today and found a handful of marigold lyretail fry. They must have escaped thru the tank seperators and the sales guy sold them to me for the same price as feeder guppies. Lets see if I can I can raise them.

well after 11 days, I have 6 of the fry left. All are getting larger and eating flake food. when should I start feeding them brine shrimp?

Livebearer fry can actually be fed brineshrimp from the time they're born, so you should be good to go now.

thank you richard. The fry are doing better now with the brine shrimp, rather than the flakes.

you should start them on the brine shrimp which you get in the form of liquifry no.2 then after a week or so move them to liquifry no.3 which is a very fine powder, feed this 3-5 times daily until they are 1/3 of adult size, then you can feed them flake food. both the liquifry foods help them to grow and develope.
