Male Betta and Male Swordtail?

Would this combination work? Zaboo (betta) isn't very aggressive (hardly flares at other males), yet maybe the long tail of Cujo would set him off? What do you think? Thanks,

Cory

I put two together once and the sword tail lived in fear. My betta wasn't very aggressive either. Also my sword tail killed one of my favourite goldfish which was double his size so I don't think it's a good idea. Male swords are usually aggressive towards other males.

It might work if you have many plants to hide behind or other hiding places. Eventually they left each other alone but when my betta went to eat his food the red sword stayed well away.

I have an older (2 years old) male crowntail betta in a tank with a male and female swordtail and two platies... they all get along great and school and feed together (weird, right?). He has never shown any signs of aggression to the male swordtail. If anything, it was vice versa. However, he did not like neon tetras. I have had other male bettas in community tanks before and fish of similar size and speed (perhaps slightly faster than the betta) tend to live in harmony. Hope that helps!

Well konaboy usually if there is plants, time, and space, a swordfish and a beta fish will leave eachother alone. they are mostly only aggresive because they are territorial or because they want the other to stay away from females.
