Perhaps you too it the wrong way, I didn't mena to totally over stock your tank. But if you have a 20g tank and have like 22in of fish, that won't hurt much. Now if its like a pet store where you have 50in in a 10g thats where problems arise. Thats just wrong to do.

Hi!

Dino is right. In my tank, it's slightly overstocked (7in) and I'm getting 20G extra filtration soon. I also do 33.33% water change every week, and it's a peaceful community. I don't say it's great - but it works.

Here is the inch per gallon rule...

Zebra danio - 2in - 2x5=10in.
WCMM - 2in - 2x5=10in

And so, the tank is stocked.

Well I think I'd only be two inches over, so that'd be alright?

I think so. My one tank is horribly overstocked right now, but some are about at the end of their run, having them since July, and my dad is setting up his 55g for tropical, so some are going in there.

The problem is that my dad sees fish that he likes and in turn keeps them in my tank rather than taking them to his 125g tank where they are supposed to be.

Now he can't seem to keep platys in his tank (keep dying) so I'm stuck with them all. They are beautiful fish, but I don't have room for them all.

I think they will be fine with the smaller fish. You might want to get a female.

Hi!

No, we're 4-5 inches over. A Sword grows on average to 10-12cm.

Thats the problem with horribly overstocked tanks, the fish keep dying.
