Swordtail Gender Ratio

1st time post....long time reader. Here is my question. I have a 75 G tank that is 3.5 years old. My last of 6 original platies has moved on to the big fishbowl in the sky....I feel like they all lived a good long life. Anyway, I feel like it's time to restock some fish. In my 75G I currently have 3 female Gourami's, 1 Koi Angel, 4 Danios, and 1 Bulldog Pleco. All fish are at least 2+ years old. I saw a pair of blood red swords on Drfostersmith.com. I know it's generally better to keep livebearers in a mix of 1 male to 2-3 females. Has anyone had success in keeping 1 pair (m & f) in a larger tank. My tank is not naturally planted but has appropriate fake decor. My concern is that the female will get stressed out by the male constantly chasing her. (They will also be quarantined in a 10g) Because of this I feel like I can't buy these fish with out adding at least one more female swordtail. The problem is Drfostersmith doesn't let you buy 1 matching female swordtail so I have a problem....I really wanted matching fish from the same stock...I didn't want to buy a random female sword from a LFS. I could use some experienced advice here. Thanks for your time and help

They should be fine.
Within a few months, you would have enough fry to get the ratio you are looking for.
We keep several pairs of swords in 10's, but they are usually not the common X. heleri species.

You know, that would be just fine. I had two males in a tank with about four females and they only became aggressive when the females were ready to breed again.

Now I have a pair of swords in my 35g that hardly ever look at each other.
