Sword fights

My two male swords keep fighting. I don't know how to seperate them or how long this will last.
If I isolate one I risk him getting injured.
There is plenty of room, hiding and females.
They are the same size and different species

I mean this in an honest manner, not rudely, but: If they are fighting enough to worry ya obviously there isn't enough room, and/or hiding places, and/or line-of-sight breaking objects.

Well, the tank is only swords so they mgiht be fighting for control of the tank. I know all the females will be breeding with them soon since they just dropped this past week. I've had em for a month or so without any problems. They are fighting for dignity...lol They are the same size so there isn't one that dominates so neither needs to hide.

Actually, one is dominate, he is the one that is fertilizing the females.
I saw a film last year by Dave Ramsey showing a tank of livebearers, and one male was actually doing the breeding.
The dominate male chased any other male that attempted to breed away.

I totally agree with CWC's comment on hiding places, breaking line of sight and size of the tank.

Just my experince of breeding livebearers over the last 30 or so years.

well, there are females of the one's breed and some for the other
also neither seems to back down so I don't think there is a dominant male. I will be moving one male and his female to a larger tank
