My quest for a Congo biotope!

I have got my husband on board finally. He is stuck on the one lake tanks...
I got the "what if they are difficult to breed?" and many other quetions...

End result I am getting my Congo tank!

I found 2 species today that I am interested in, something tells me it will include my first overseas order for fish!
I cannot find an American site that has this cichlid:
http://www.ciklidi.com/ciklidi/nanoc...vestitus.shtml

Nickname: Bloody Mary (literally, how cool is that??)

The other is a Nano species that has been in the US for 2 years.
I found them on aquabid for a decent price..

I am going to have to first set me up a tank, I have a "Cichlids of West Africa" book that talks about their tanks, they can survive in alkiline waters, but they like the more acidic pH. So I am going to try to get a 7.2, soft water.
Also a lot of flow, so I will ad a powerhead or two. I will already be using my eheim ecco from my 36g tank on it and a 250 biowheel filter.
They like planted tanks (OH I AM GOING TO LOVE THIS!) after having mbuna for so long and not being able to have aquatic plants heres my opp to have some beautiful plants!
I am also going to ad some driftwood to this tank, giving them lots of cover (they love that)....

Well, for now thats all I have planned!

Wow... I seem to remember someone reccomending Congo cichlids to me sometime (was it you? I can't remember!) - from your description they sound like the African version of the Apisto! Have fun... What sort of planted tank are you looking to try? High light, Low light or what?

I am going for a low light tank due to the natural habitat of the cichlids.
