Angela's Offical Pregnancy log (updates, etc)

I am offically expecting!
Due date is August 27, but If history repeats itself like it did w/ my past 2 children I will go 7 days exactly early. (August 20th).

I am now 11 weeks along, not having any nausea (unless I overeat lol), starting to show already (I hear that w/ the 2nd/3rd-beyond that you are in maternity clothes so much faster) I have already tossed my jeans, and am wearing a couple pairs of softer pants, one pair of dress pants, and some sweats I figure I will get spring/summer actual maternity clothes.

I also cannot wait to shock my friend that I am her maid of honor this summer (about 20 days from my due date). When she tries to fit me for a dress thats going to be funny! She's already going w/ the baby doll dresses to suit a pregnant woman.
I have also made a lot of jokes about going in labor during the wedding (that would be classic!) and something that always happens to me and her, total chaos! We nicknamed each other stupid and retarded in high school... of coarse not knowing I would have 2 degrees in healthcare and her a phd in special education. Who would have thought stupid and retarded were smart??

Anyways.... on w/ the offical thread!

My first offical prenatal appt is next week!

About the "gear" from "fullofits post"
I have a ton of stuff left from my boys, but I have found so much cool stuff like the swings that go different ways, the newer pack and plays (mine are 7 years old), car seat, the new rubber seat for babies (bumbo?) its supose to be great for reflux babies and is physical therapist recommended for babies (and after carson had reflux so bad I want to be prepared)

My mom was a week away from having the clothes sold when I found out I was pregnant. Luckily they are still setting in bags in her garage.

But I am def hoping for a girl, which leads me to want to weed thought the clothes and pick out gender non specific clothes, like the pjs w/ ducks on the feet...

Of coarse also, I just need a reason to buy baby stuff!

I've bought All my stuff in the last 1-3 years...There are sooo many adorable, awesome new things for babies...This is one of my favorite parts of having a baby is being able to shop..lol..I was always sick though...We have the bumbo, it's awesome and it's great to build the babies strength..My second one was sitting way earlier then my first from using it. I would recommend it. The pack and plays are awesome too.We used it more then anything..Never actually used the play yard part,, I just didn't like the idea of the girls being in a cage..lol...They come with everything you'd need,,Bassinets, mobiles, sounds and vibrations, changing table..It's great You would never think but it's everything all packed into 1..We had it in our bedroom until she was sleeping in her crib...There are so many things they have now, Im sure the baby market is making a killing.

Aren't those urinals hilarious..They are sooo cute. They are def. great for naps. We ended up getting the matching set of play and play, swing, hair chair, car seat and stroller and diaper bag..It was great because everything matched up to each other..The carset hooks into the stroller and etc..It was great..Even the toys they come out with for older kids are crazy, It's great they have all this cool stuff but In the back of my mind I'm thinking, NO FAIR ..I didn't have any cool stuff like this. .

Thats how I felt when I was shopping for my cousins baby a year ago. Of coarse now I have a reason to buy this stuff!
I can't wait to start, as soon as we get our boys room done and Carson in his big boy bed and out of the toddler in my room. I will be able to start on the babies stuff.

My husband has a terrible snoring issue and I can't stand him in my room at night, and so he took my older sons bed and well I have 2 kids in my room. Hopefully down to one baby in the next year!

LOl..Mine is awful about snoring too...It stinks..I've consistently elbowing him We even had surgery done on his nose...He had all kinds of problems..but it didn't help. Good luck with the 1 baby in the room, Its hard to get them out after they think they can..We went through a spell with our 3 year old..She did not want to sleep in her bed..She suckered us into it for about a month and it took us good month to get things back to normal. It's so much fun being able to get ready for baby..I'm jealous, but not of the sleepless nights, diapers and bottles..lol..Just the shopping, cuddling, wonderful baby smell and all the first's.

You know it sounds weird but I am so used to the sleepless nights from Carson that I don't think it will be hard to get used to. His reflux made him only sleep about 3 hours straight all the way up to about 18 months. Then he still will get up at about 3 if he needs something. I rarely get a full straight 8 hours sleep.

Update on my pregnancy...
Everything is going wonderful! I am so surprised in my lack of pregnancy symptoms (morning sickness, back pain, etc)
If my first two were like this number 3 would have been planned a year or two ago.

I have more energy, of coarse I have to take an evening n ap everyday, I feel "happy", and I do have one symptom: CRAVINGS!
Today it was for fried eggs, my husband made me a couple, then it was a baked potato so I planned a whole meal to cook around a potato for me...

I am craving bbq as well, so tomm I am going to make bbq chicken for supper (the pearls of loving to cook, lol)

Update from Dr's Appt...
Well I don't know if it was the 300 dollar electric bill, or the overage of text messages costing 50 on my husbands phone did it, but my blood pressure was throught he roof this appt.
They are going to recheck it next week, honestly the only time I have issues is when I am so stressed out, and the "white coat syndrome" when I check it at home its always 100/70, it was 147/95 at th drs office..

Geesh I am worried though things have been going so well!.

Hopefully it's just the white coat syndrome...How far along are you now??. Hope next week it's normal. I had Preclampsia with both my girls starting out like at 27 weeks, which is really early for preclampsia to hit but as long as your not putting out protein in your urine no worries of that. I guess it's pretty common to have maternal hypertension, but I'm sending out all my good vibes to you!!!..

Well, luckily my bp went down at work of all places (somehow thats my mini vacation from the boys??) It was 120/70 normal for me. Then even after work it was that low. So I think I was just stressed at the drs office.

Last night was the worst pregnancy night so far!!
I have this terrible (tear jerking pain in my right side, right under my ribs) My husband asked me over and over if I wanted to go to the hospital, and he is a paramedic that believes in NOT going to the hospital for anything but dying....
I am still at 4am hurting, I thought I was feeling better when I went to bed, but the pain will not go away..
I have been throwing up, which I haven't had morning sickness, so Its making me think its my gallbladder.

It was acting up big time before I was pregnant. When I threw up, it looked just like gallbladder stuff, not food.

Poor Carson (my 3 year old) got up next to me and said "mommy is the baby okay?" That made me want to cry, hes so little but concerned for his little brother/sister...

Wyatt (my 6 year old won't leave my side) He kept bringing me pillows and blankets....

Kids, go figure... they are so sweet when they want to be!

I will post back when I am feeling better, I am planning on calling the Dr when they open up.

Note to self, when questioning what that pain is through google.... don't believe anything you read!! ITs all scary!

With all my family history of liver disease (caused by a rare blood issue of too much iron in the blood), and chron's it is scary..

Oh dear...I hope you are feeling better and get in at the doctor first thing in the morning. If the pain's that bad, perhaps your paramedic husband is right about going to the hospital...

I just stumbled upon this post just now. Congrats and the bundle of joy(?).

On a more serious note, I hope you make out okay at the Doctors and your pain goes away quickly and turns out to be nothing but an inconvience.

Thanks guys/girls..

I know now that its my gallbladder. I had test done years ago showing numerous gallstones and the DOC had told me that I wouldn't be able to keep my gallbladder 10 years from then, its been 15 years. Before I was pregnant I was having issues, I just never went to the doctor for it (especially w/ the insurance we have).
If I have to go to a high risk doctor and follow a stict diet I will before they will touch my gallbladder (during pregnancy you don't get that nice laproscopy surgery, and if you aren't over 21 weeks pregnant the babies life is ill important to the doctors).

I have to let my pregnancy be my top priority. So I will try to keep my gallbladder under control until after I have the baby. Besides last night is the most vomiting I have done through my whole pregnancy. i have had good luck besides the pain/vomiting last night.

Don't worry about it. Usually those results are inaccurate. Did they have you sit for a full 5 minutes before taking your BP? Did they let the little needle fall too fast? Not saying your tech wasn't trained but my tech got me "in trouble" with my MD because she didn't take my BP right and I was reported to have a high BP. Add a touch of angst over what the MD is going to say about the health of your baby, your weight, etc, etc.... boom, incorrect BP reading.

... so do not worry yet. You need successive high blood pressures, preferably taken by a nurse or doctor, to officially say you have high blood pressure.

Being that I am a nurse, I told my MD that the tech took my BP incorrectly. The MD rechecked my BP and it was fine.

Oh the MD was the one who took my BP, he is very insistive of doing everything himself.
They have the automatic BP machine. And it right as I was getting my purse to leave when he said, wait I haven't got your BP...

Yea, I have plenty of BP taking experience myself working in the healthcare feild... I also have been going over to my fil's and using his machine just for assurance.

I also had a little rise in my bp at the end of both of my pregnancies, the last one the doc had sced an induction before it got worse (It was only 135/95 but he wanted to get the baby out before their was issues).. I had it sced on Monday, I went into labor the Wed before... W/ my first baby I was told to stop working about 2 weeks before he was due, or go in the hospital because of the slight rise (nothing over 140/95 ish).. I had both babies exactly 7 days early w/ no complications.

I guess though when my normal bp is 110/70 the rise to 140/95 makes it a bit concerning.
Considering stress, etc that day of the appt Im sure it made it worse.

Having experianced gall bladder pain myself in the past, I know exactly how much pain you were in, and have a great deal of sympathy for you.

Like you I resisted having mine removed for as long as possible, but a stone lodged in my bile duct and the pain just wouldn't go away. I was glad I waited though, because I origionally had the problem before they started doing laproscopy removal.

I almost had lipotripsy (?) done (where the bombard the stones with ultra sonic waves, like they used to do for kidney stones.). Fortunatley, my wife is a nurse, and the nurse at the place the proceedure was supposed to be done gave my wife a little professional courtesy and told her I shouldn't get the proceedure done. She said that they were starting to fear that patients would start developing liver aptrophy (?) since they had to shoot the waves thru the liver to get to the gall bladder.

Well, I'm really happy to hear it is only your gall bladder. Stay away from ALL fatty foods. Try to stay under 50 grams of fat per day.

Oh and BTW, I found that ibuprophan really help gall bladder pain for me, but of course I don't know if expectant mommies should be taking it.

(Sorry about all of the mis-spelled wrongly used medical terms, but hopefully you got what I was attempting to say)

Thanks, its a lot of words to spell correctly lol, I have issues and I have been in the healthcare feild for 8 years, and took med terminology before I started my schooling. Motrin is completly out and I can take tylonol but when you weigh the medications and pregnancy. I don't take anything but my stomach medication for my hernia. I am hoping it can c ontinue that way.

Well, I found out what was going on with my stomach. A really really bad stomach bug, after 2 night w/o sleep and throwing up constantly I went to the Dr yesterday. He did the scan on my stomach (just an ultrasound since I am pregnant) and some lab work. Instead of throwing me in the hospital he told my husband (the paramedic) to go get iv supplies and give me a couple bags of fluids, then the doc gave me phenagren as well.

Even w/o a Hida scan though they told me they couldn't tell my gallbladders function yet. So I will have to wait until after the baby to get one. SO I may still loose my gallbladder.

I realized what it was when my 3 year old woke up this morning throwing up. Its hard to miss that.
