Sometimes snails like to hide when they're new in another tank. When I bought mine it didn't come out of its shell for about 3 days, and then finally I woke up in the middle of the night and saw the snail up against the tank RIGHT next to my face. They'll come out in time, then you can watch them move around all snail-like. lol.

I say don't worry about it. When I bump mine (or in your case, jostle him during the move to your tank), they pout for days and won't come out of their shell. Your water params look good, so that's likely not the cause.

If Mr. and Mrs. Snail are tucked tightly into their shell, and the trapdoor is pulled tight, then you know they're still alive - it takes muscle tension to keep the trap door shut. Give them a few days, don't mess with them or make waves in the water, and once they feel comfortable, they'll start zooming around like you wouldn't believe a snail could do!

Hello Elvis. Sorry to hear you're having snail issues. I would suggest raising your pH levels above 7.0. pH levels drop naturally over time and should it drop below 7.0 then the acidity will start eating the snails shells. Too, snails need calcium. Feeding them a slice of zucchini is good (high in calcium) adding eggs shells to your tank and even calcium tablets for human consumption. Here are a couple of links on Mystery Snails and Apple Snails.

I hope your snails come out and do well for you. They are amazing to watch.
