Thought I'd add my question onto this post since it's related.
There's this huge cluster of what I'm assuming are Apple Snail eggs on the side of my
HOB filter. I have no idea how the apple snail managed to get there to put them there but it's there.
So my first question is, how many baby snails am I gonna get out of that bunch? I really don't want any more. If it's 2 or 3 that tend to survive I can manage but if each little sphere in that bunch is a new Apple Snail then I'm in for a problem.
2nd question is, the location of the bunch will cause the snails to possibly fall into the tank after hatching. Is that okay for them to go into the water so soon?
3rd question is, the two apple snails in my tank are both Ivory and since this has happened I'm assuming one male one female. Will the babies all be Ivory Apple Snails?
Right now I'm torn between letting them hatch or discarding the cluster. I really don't want them but it seems cruel to discard the cluster.
I'm going to read that referenced web site now to see if it answers any of these questions.
Thanks.
