Hello, I was wondering what can be done to keep snails alive and healthy. Mostly in regards to their shells..... I know they need something in the water (calcium) - or is it not suppose to be in the water ?

How does one do this, and still keep the other fish in the tank safe too??

Hello Betafish. Here are a few links concerning snails that I found very helpful. Make sure your pH levels are over 7.0. Anything below 7.0 is too acidic and will eat away at the snail shell. I've added egg shells to my tank for calcium. (I used raw egg shell, not boiled) Too, zucchini is great for snails to eat and also contains calcium.
