Searching for the most Unusual: Snail!

Okay ladies and gentlemen i am on a search for a new species of snail to populate my two new fishtanks that im building, that i swear are just for pond plants for the winter hehehe. I was wondering if anyone knew of any offbeat species. Size, shape and color all factor in let me know what ya find!

Check out the shining ramshorn snail: http://www.arkive.org/shining-rams-h...tida/info.html SO pretty, but I don't think they're for sale because they are threatened in the wild.

My favorite FW snail would probably be the apple snail because I'm amazed that any invert gets to the size of a softball and because I love my own little mystery snail . If we're going for looks in the fw category, how about the Neritina natalensis? It has these funny Charlie Brown t-shirt zigzags on it's shell that are hard to beat.

Pusiostoma mendicaria "Bumblebee Snail" is the coolest looking snail I've seen, but it's a SW invert. My second pick is the Cypraea tigris "Tiger Cowrie Snail", but it too is sw.

Lol. Okay, I failed at this post. I can't choose just one!

Man, I want some snails too. But for some reasons we are not meant to be together. All my apple snails died within 48 hours of purchase, even when I did everything right (transportation, acclimation, water temp+parameters). Tried 3 times and failed 3 times, I gave up. .

Mystery snails are kinda like the baby cousin of the apple snail -- same family, but they only get about an inch-and-a-half. Regular apple snails, on the other hand... yowzers! I can't even wrap my brain around a softball size snail!
