Safe to Touch?

Alright, alright, alright. Very last snail-related thread, at least until I get them, I promise.

Mystery/Apple Snails.

Safe to handle?

I don't nessicarily mean for me - afterall I can just go soap up after touching a snail and problem's solved. I mean for the snail.

Would I hurt it in any way if it for example crawled over my finger? I don't mean to say I'd be reaching in everyday and handling my snail all over the place. Just for example if for some reason I had to remove it from the tank for a short while and as I was placing it in a temporary holding place it opened it's little door and popped it's head out onto my hand. Happened a few times with my Grandmother's late snail pair.

I know they're rubbing up against and crawling over surfaces all day, and I'd obviously wash my hands very well before handling the creature, but, well, as this entire forum will come to learn, I am a very paranoid person. I just want to make sure.

So, snail against my skin. Bad or irrelevant for the snail?

I would say irrelevant, as long as you don't have any soap left on your hands from paranoiac washings

Haha, no worries. Thankfully not a germaphobe. (In fact I ate mold as a dare once )

I know. One of my Grandmother's was very touchy-feely though. Just making sure. See the paranoia statement. lol

I did! They were awesome. Spent the better part of a few days ago researching snails absolutely everywhere online. Can't wait to get into town and check out the stock there.
