veggie treat

This will be a very short post.

Which do you think would be "healthier" as a supplemental part of a snail's diet? Collard greens, or Kale? I've eaten neither of these veggies (and probably never will) so I know little about them.

I've never tried either.
I gice cucumber, zuccini to my snails.
I've heard of others giving peas, green beans & yams to theirs.

Thanks for the reply!

Before I saw the reply though, I hit the grocery store and managed to find some organic Kale.

With either this or any veggie, do I just throw it in a bowl of water and zap it (microwave) for like 30 seconds?

*edit* Oh yes, and how often?

what kind of snails do you have? if it's mystery snails, you don't necessarily have to nuke it before feeding. when i had mystery snails, i would just put a piece in once a day at night, and it would be gone by morning. if you have pond snails, i'd feed less, but it kinda depends on what your goals for the snails are.

hopefully some of that information will be helpful to you

I think the kale would be fine....I dont micro mine, but others do, I just wash it good and put it in the tank once a week (not kale im like amanda with zuk and cukes ) weighed down with a rock...make sure you take it out the next day if not fully eaten...
