Snails...
I have had a tank for a couple of years now, and I brought home a snail the last time I got a fish. Anyway I was about to check out what to put in my tank anyway, but now I would like to put fish in there that will also eat the snails. This is what I have:
30 Gal., gravel bottom, Fluval 205
Nitrite,Nitrate, Amonia =0
Very hard water
in Ideal range(120) for Alkalinity
PH 7.2
I now have:
1 Black skirt Tetra
2 Spotted Cories
1 Silver Hatchetfish
I was thinking of clown loaches, but I don't think my tank is big enough, many of the other loaches seem to require sand bottom?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Ann

Most of the loaches are too big for a 30g, plus there isnt much of a reason to buy them just for snails unless you have live plants that the snails are eating. Snails are actually good for your tank, they eat excess waste in the gravel and clean algae off of your tanks glass and decor.

Thanks Clinton,
I actually am interested in Loaches, and just don't care to have the snails, I have way too many of them. I am still interested in ideas for fish that will do well in my tank. I am interested in getting a couple larger fish rather then many smaller fish. Maybe one day I will set up a larger tank for Loaches, but any ideas for the time being would be great.
Thanks,
Ann

Dino and CWC were just saying you could put 3 kuhli's in a 5g, can't argue with their experience.
But I wouldn't do it.
Any way, they said they don't have a big bio laod.

Thats why I said most loaches are too big lol, there are a few that stay around 2 to 3 inches... I'm not sure off the top of my head what they all are, but try doing a search for loaches, or botias, and I'm sure you can find a small breed that you like =)
Sorry that I thought you only wanted them to kill the snails, I actually saw a really cool Botia that I might get a couple of the other day at the LFS... I think it was an Angelicus Botia
Edit: Heres a link with a pic of one...

Thanks Clinton and Lucy,
I will check into some others, I would have to change out my gravel to sand, so it would take me a bit to get the tank ready. Clinton that Angelicus Botia is pretty cool looking, and is definitely an option for me.

I had dojo loaches before and I loved them. I had to give them away when I moved and wish I could of kept them. I had red ramshorm ( pond ) snails in my tank and as far as I know unless one got squished they never botherd them. My briggs snails however were a different matter. I couldn't figure out what was happening to them. They kept disappearing....hmm wait dojos are known to eat snails...lol. now if we can teach them to eat the pest snails and leave the pet snails alone we would have the perfect snail control.
