Mystery Snail

I have some questions about Mystery Snail, if someone can help me.
If i just get 1 , does it multiply by itself. Does it repreduce quickly, as i do not want my tank to be overrun by sails.

Re: Mystery Snail

It does reproduce by itself. Leave an inch or so of space above the waterline and it will lay its eggs there. It doesn't reproduce all that fast, but can lay quite a few eggs at once.

Re: Mystery Snail

You could remove the eggs by yourself too can't you, and what if there isn't enough room for it to lay eggs?

Re: Mystery Snail

Ok sorry for intruding but I have a question, if at my LFS I don't see any of the snails but I see their shells, are they in the shells hiding.

Re: Mystery Snail

Some snails will reproduce by themselves without mates, but the Zebra Nerita and Mystery Snails that I have will not. I have had them for a few months now and the Zebras I have let breed by putting 2 of them together in the tank in the bedroom but my Mystery snails do not breed and I am not having any little snails off of them. I would love it if I did as I think they are beautiful but I am not going to place them in the same tank.
