Malasian Trumpet snails

Hmmm... I just found an add with someone trying to sell these snails they've been breeding. Of course there is a big long list of how great these snails are ect. but is any of it true? Anybody know anything about these snails?
here's the link so you can see what the person is saying.

Thanks to anyone who can clear this up.

eh. They're talking them up. The one problem I see with this type of snails is that they give birth to live young - so you can't just get rid of the eggs like with Apple Snails. So they will reproduce very fast. They do add to the bioload - so I wouldn't want hundreds in my tank, but that's just me. If you have snad as your substrate, they do help to keep it free of air pockets; as they burrow in the sand.

That's what I was thinking. I was just curious if what they said was true but my tanks so small that I wouldn't dare put much more of a load on it anyway. also I don't have sand but thanks for answering.

No problem. If you ever get a bigger tank - snails are an interesting addition.

Malaysian Trumpet snails are absolutely terrific for sand tanks. I have them in both of mine. The key is they will only multiply according to the food available. Most of us way overfeed our fish and this leads to a snail explosion. I really have never had a problem with MTS.

If my snails get out of hand, a good thorough vacuuming gets rid of some.. I personally really enjoy snails in the tank though.
