Ivory mystery snail reproduced in 24 hours!

This can't be possible... can it?! I bought an Ivory mystery snail yesterday and this evening i noticed a tiny brown snail. It was only about a sixteenth of an inch long. Did I just unleash a self replicating monster? please tell me what is going on.

Nope, when you bought the adult snail, they gave you a baby along with it. They did the SAME thing to me. They're so small that you usually don't realize that it's in the bag with the adult.

Could it have been in the bigger snails shell? I pulled the ivory out of the bag and I didn't see anything on it.

It's possible. The little snails hitch a ride with the big ones - that's why they should have been in different tanks at the store. Not a big deal, you got a snail for free . As long as nothing else in your tank decides to make a snack out of it. Where did you buy the snails from?

Mystery snails lay eggs and it takes from 2-4 weeks for them to hatch. you just got an extra snail

Can you post some pictures? If they look like long pointy sea shells they are Malaysian Trumpet snails. They are good for your tank but will over populate if you feed the tank too much or don't do water changes often enough.

No I don't think so. they do an excellent job of eating left over food and keeping your substrate loose. They are live bearers so you won't see little jelly egg clusters.

sure you can put the Apple snail in. The MTS have barely any impact on bioLoad.
