I just got some live plants this afternoon (onion plant) and noticed a trumpet snail.. im keeping it for now but my question is..

I plan on getting another plant (a moss type).. should I get the plant where I got the first one.. or can I go to another LFS .. i know its an easy question duh.. but if I go to another LFS.. I may introduce another type snail... I just read in another POST that the trumpet snail will eventually win out...

I know trumpet snails are live breeders and they have out eaten my pond and ram horn snails in my 29 gallon tank. I know some people soak their plants in a solution of 2qts water and 1tbs alum for 3 to 4 days then rinse. You can get alum in the spice area of the grocery store. Some people use potassium permanganate but I believe that is mainly to kill algae. I rinse my plants in regular tap water then put them in the tank. About the new plants go where the plants and tanks are the healthiest.
