Favorite Species of Snail (or variety)

Which is your favorite? Also, specify if a specific color, or shell pattern is to your liking.

either malaysian trumpets or nerites, any variety, and I like them because they are so usefull, having either amazing cleaning ablilities, or keeping my gravel great.

Oh, this poll is timely, I'm considering getting one, so I'll be interested to see what everyone says.

i have recently gotten snails even though i really don't like them but i love the work they do on the tanks. I have ramshorn, pond, MTS and batman (Nerite) they are all kinda cool but the pond and ramshorns are more of a pest.

Check out this link

I think it has almost all species the (Channeled) Apple Snail - Pomacea bridgesii look amazing but i have never seen them around me.

I like the mystery snails due to all the color variations, but I miss my cana's They were huge and just great. Unfortunately... Near impossible to find, and probably illegal where I am too, considering I'm just above the Florida state line and I hear they have done a number on the plant life down there.

I really like Mystery Snails, they don't bother my plants but do keep the algae down and I just like how they look. Malaysian Trumpet snails are my favorite "working" snail, couldn't have a good sand tank without them.

I also liek the Mystery snails - I have one in each betta tank (X4) and 2 in my 36g. Two purple stripe; two gold; one blue and one white.

I have malaysian trumpets in my 55g and my 10 & 6g betta tanks. They really do a bang up job of cleaning the substrate.

I like the MT snails since they clean great and I don't see them taking over the aquarium LOL since they come out in the tank at night!!

They are really cool for sure. However, I overfed in my 55g and had a really big infestation. I happened to look into the big tank one night when the lights were off..OMG - a gazillion of them all over the place!! Kind of weirded me out. I was picking them out by hand, some of them get quite big, maybe an inch long and 1/4 in around - and then just disappear in the day.

I have learned my lesson, and now also have yoyo loaches in that tank to snack on them.

I like the common pond snail best. Why? Because they make excellent puffer food!

Just added a ramshorn snail to the today. My 3 yr old picked it out. Boy that critter travels all over the tank and is neat to watch.

One of my teachers took us on a "field trip" to the AWESOME pet store, it is considered the best in Michigan it’s called Preuss Pets it is 22,000 square feet! Anyways I finally found the holly grail of all snails; they actually had some Giant Apple Snails (canas) of course I bought some. I put a link in there so that anyone living in MI can learn about this amazing place.

I love the snails I have, but I have no clue what they are. They definitely are not Apple snails because they don't have the syphoning tube to breathe while submerged.

Snails are fun though.
