I found this in my community tank

Can any one tell me what kind it is?and are they bad for my fish?

It is a pond snail. I have them in my tanks but my fish seem to eat them when they are small. If you over feed you will most likely have an explosion of them. I don't mind them other people loath them.

Yeah it's a pond snail like what joy613 said. I've seen them before too. They can be really small also. But i guess they don't harm your fish.

i have heard some people say thet they eat fish eggs sometimes so keep an eye on them.

those are the mass reproducing pond snails.. see them squash-em... they won't harm your fish, but the reproduce on a wide scale

If you are having a problem with them, or there are to many, I read that if you take a piece of lettuce, run it under hot water and get it to sit at the bottom of your tank before bed, the next morning before it light you can remove the lettuce and several will be stuck to it. Do this several times to remove them all.
