I always end up with hitchhikers when I buy plants. No matter where I buy them from the snails come too. I was worried initially till I realised that the poor little things dont usually survive very long. All the fish I have had have had a little snack on the little baby snails. My Betta loves them. Its like keeping a live food culture in your tank. I have very soft water as well and the snails dont do so well in it, they usually die before they reach full maturity because there isnt enough calcium in the water to grow their shells as they grow. They really arent a bad thing.

How big will they get. I have three in the tank now, but they are so small.

I've never let any snails grow so I'm not sure how big they get, but I've seen some maybe near the size of a dime at the pet store in the tanks.
