little snails,HELP!

i have been running a 120 liter tank now for about 8 months and all is very healthy,so no complaints there, but for some reason there seems to be little tiny snails apearing in the tank.they are getting more numerous. how did they get there and how can i get rid of then. is there a type of fish that will eat them?

snails like to hitch rides on live plants. so that is where they came from. there might have been some snail eggs on the leaves that went unnoticed.

Loaches like to eat snails and so do dwarf puffers. The puffers aren't really community fish though and many loaches get too big for a 120L tank. I think Kuhli loaches may be the best option.

thankyou for the help. but i have a rainbow shark who is around 3" and growing fast,i have been told that they are very bad tank mates for loaches. i have a good balance in my tank and would not like to upset it. would a large pleco eat them? they are very small snails

It depends on the type of snail you have, some loaches can't do a thing with MTS. If it is common pond snails or rams horn snails then either a loach or or a dwarf puffer would take care of the problem. Puffers are usually brackish, I have been doing research on them because I have thought about getting one because they are so cute looking. MTS are live bearing snails and the other 2 I mentioned are egg layers and some fish will eat their eggs. Pleco are algae eaters.
