Calcium Supplement for Apple Snails ???

In March I bought an Apple Snail on impulse. He is with Casey - betta - and I am enjoying him and all the hard work he does.

I just read, however that these snails need an occassional Calcium Supplement. The ones I find online and DFS are what you use for reef tanks, ( and snails) and are quite expensive for what I want - ( starting about $8 - and the bottles are huge).

Does anyone know if there is something specifically for snails, smaller bottles; less expensive ( I'm not cheap, but those huge bottles would expire before I used hardly any). If I can't find anything else, I will order the big bottle - cuz Oto deserves it!

My bettas are in town water, except for Shy-lo who is in hard well water, which would seemingly be perfect for snails. ( Right, or would they still need supplement.)

Any help/advice appreciate.

I have never been able to keep mystery snails alive, and this might be why.
Cuttlefish "bone," perhaps? Unfortunately, this will likely mess with your hardness (I can't think of any calcium supplement that wouldn't, however).

I use the calcium supliment thats is made for crickets (sprinkle on crickets then feed to lizards) i have read the labels of both, and they contain the same thing as snail calcium suplement. when you read the nutrition facts label it should say calcium carbonate. but cuttle fish bone works just as well.
not sure? check this out:
