I have no idea what is going on in my snail tank. The first strangeness is the two clutches I have found in the last 3 days even though I have had snails for over a year with NONE. Second, possibly non-related, I found a dead snail yesterday. This little guy is one of the last that I bought and that was a few months ago. He never did grow any while the rest are growing like, well, snails. Also, the rim of his shell is wavy instead of straight
Third, today they are literally lying around with their siphons out. They are out of their shells and they are alive. Just not moving. I checked all my params yesterday when I found the dead snail and everything was in range, nitrates a bit high, but nothing a water change won't fix (which I will do when I finish typing).
It is just seriously freaking me out that my VERY active and friendly snails are acting like this. I could understand one or two stubborn brats, but not all. And Molly, my most active snail that I never see sleep, is on the bottom of the tank, right side up, fully out of her shell, siphon extended, just not moving AT ALL.
Hope someone has some answers
Thanks everyone!
Tina
