The best idea that I read that I think will work is to place a piece of vegetable into the tank over night and the snails will swarm it by morning. Then just remove the piece and all the snails on it. Might have to do it a couple times though.

I haven't had too deal with snails yet thankfully so these are just from reading. The most common idea I have read is to just try and scoop and pick them out. There are also solutions that are suppose to remove them but I think a lot of snails are pretty resistant to those.

Do you have any room to add any fish? If so, you can try a fish that likes to eat them...

Many of the Loaches are reported to help control the snail population, such as the Clown Loach. This fish will quite happily dine on your snails. They can get to be rather large though, so be sure you have adequate room. The Skunk Loach is another of the snail eating loaches. The Upsidedown Catfish also eats snails, again, they can become 10 inches in length. Since you are a cichlid lover, most of the Malawi Cichlids will also eat snails.

Just be sure the fish you add are compatable and that you have adequate room for that fish. (oh, and please note that most loaches are schooling fish).

Good Luck!!
