Snails in my Tank



i bought a tank and some tropical fish recently and also added a plant.

and 2 snails are in my tank,

is it possible that some snails have came off the plant

Its more then likely. I bought some hornwort coupl of days ago, they were full of tiny snails, hope they get eaten!

yea, unfortunately live plants often come with little hitchhikers.

And they're not necessarily bad -- snails are part of the natural clean-up crew, and will eat algae and left-over food from the bottom. Many fish like to eat them if you crush them when they're small and let the remains drop in the water (my danios love them), and there are some fish like loaches that are natural snail predators and help control the population.

they are a yummy treat for cichlids.

Your snails most likely came from the plants. But like Jsalemi said, they're not bad at all. They're GREAT algae eaters! I love my snails
