i have a beautiful apple snail....that is now about the size of a golf ball...though when i got him was the size of a quarter... as time went on i have a new respect for snails and seem to like him now as much as my fish. anyways he's huge,,, but theres a problem, i look at my tank and theres no more algae..i guess this means i should buy some algae wafers....is there anything else he can eat besides this...for i dont think i can go to the store till tomorrow...and im worried about the last time he ate..any suggestions..thanx

o my gosh i just looked at my apple snail again..he went to the top of the tank found one of the floating betta pellets and ate it!!! i guess he can just eat those too!..its pretty cool to watch

I'd get a piece of cucumber or zucchini or something and either clip it to the wall or lay it down on the bottom. Most herbivores love that kind of stuff. Lettuce or spinach would also work.

k got some lettuce for him.thanx but it floating at the top, that ok?

yep - it'll just go to the top and eat it there. i used to have these, and i'd feed them a lot of different things (fish pellets, turtle food, fish flakes, greens, Ca). i think there's very little they won't eat.

the important thing is to keep a lot of Ca in the water so they will have good shells.
